I chose this as my masthead. I got the font from a font maker website and I chose to use this one as I think it fits in with my genre well. The magazines I researched all have quite a basic font that is clear and easy to see but also eye catching. Also I chose the colour red from the answers I received from my survey and the research I done on POP magazines.
These are all the photos I took on my Photo shoot day. These photographs are all for something different, some for the front cover, contents page and double page spread. I took many photos for each one so I can decide which one looks best on the magazine once I start to produce it.
Here is a list of possible slogans in which i may use on the cover of my magazine.
Share moments, share blasters The blasters of a new generation Get the blasters out Blasters, what else? Open happiness Make the most of now Be alive Let the blasters begin Always a step ahead No one can stop This is where I chose to shoot for my magazine. I wanted to have a white backdrop so if any color changes are needed to be made later on in the process of production, the background will not be a problem. Also as I want my masthead to be red I need a very plain color for the background otherwise it will be too loud. From my research I learnt with having lots on the cover means the background needs to be simplistic for it to look professional. I chose to use the natural lighting from outside the windows as it was a bright and sunny day and enough light was shining through. If this wasn't the case I had lighting to use as a backup if the natural lighting was a problem. If there is anything in the shot that is Unwanted or a problem with the background I can change and adapt it using Photoshop. ScheduleFirst I will set up my backdrop and scene with the white sheets. And ensure the lighting is correct and if needed, set up the extra lighting to make the scene brighter for the photographs. Next I will get my models ready for the shoot. I will first shoot the double page spread. I will put my model in a denim dress which will appeal to the target audience as well as being suitable for the color scheme and feel of the feature. The makeup of the model will be simple as an up and coming artist, a cleaner more innocent look will be more suitable. Similarly with the front cover look. Although the dress to be worn will be brighter and more exciting to relate to the magazine of POP. It will also draw the audience in on the front cover being more colorful, like I've researched from the previous POP magazines I have looked at. Also with my final model being a male just doing his clothing and hair is enough. When doing these shoots I will try a range of poses not just those that i think will work the best as something else may be better. Equipment ListMakeup and makeup equipment
